Self Reg Global Inc. (“SRG”) is dedicated to Self-Reg learning around the world, envisioning an international movement equipped with the science of Shanker Self-Reg® and united by the commitment to potentiating the potential of every child, every human being.

SRG is looking for someone to fill the following part-time position.

Position Overview: Social Media Strategist

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Social Media Strategist is responsible for planning and implementing Self-Reg Global’s social media strategy and that of it’s visionary Dr Stuart Shanker.  Their goal is to extend the Self-Reg community internationally upholding SRG’s strategic directions and mission.

Areas of Accountability

  • Manage all of Self-Reg Global’s social media channels and platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube)

  • Manage all of Dr. Shanker’s social media channels and platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) with his input as needed

  • Manage content creation while monitoring social media interaction with a goal of increasing brand awareness

  • Create a system and a plan for community management for Self-Reg Global and Dr Shanker’s social media channels.

  • Write social media posts and develop social media content calendars

  • Position social media and blog posts to develop a broader reach internationally into the Self-Reg Global community worldwide

  • Collaborate with The MEHRIT Centre communications and design staff for cross branding between SRG and the MERIT Centre

  • Create & implement paid advertising campaigns on Google, Facebook and Instagram for events and programs

  • Develop a visual content strategy for the social media channels with quarterly reports

  • Research new social media trends and make suggestions for content optimization.

  • Explore and present opportunities to utilize other social media platforms.

  • Participation in TMC monthly twitter chat as needed 

  • Use Basecamp as a project management tool to track deliverables.

Qualifications Required

  • Canadian resident

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.

  • Proven success and in-depth experience with different clients and campaigns

  • Experience in identifying target audiences and building content to attract them to the company website and events.

  • Ability to ensure the presentation of consistent messaging and brand voice, assuring accuracy, effectiveness and consistency of style, tone and language.

  • Excellent written communication skills that demonstrate diplomacy, tact, discretion and confidentiality.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google drive, Gmail and Google Analytics, social media platforms listed above, web traffic metrics and MailChimp..

  • Familiarity with Basecamp, Slack, and Zoom is an asset.

  • Consistent attention to detail and self-motivated to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Working Hours and Conditions

All SRG employees are expected and supported to carry out their job responsibilities in a professional, responsive way that is aligned with SRG’s mission.

This is a work at home position. The employee is expected to provide own computer, software and internet connection.

This position has flexible and variable working hours, based on the volume of work required by SRG. The employee is expected to work a maximum of 20-25 hours per week on average, depending on the volume of assignments and deadlines preferably between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Starting rate of pay hourly based on experience between $22 – $30
